About LEAD
Everyone deserves to be an active citizen and make a valuable contribution. We support people to achieve their potential by providing opportunities to be active in the community. Our services extend beyond employment into the community to embrace diversity, promote tolerance and offer more opportunities for all.
Community Programs was established in 1989 by a key group of
parents of people with a disability seeking innovative options for
their children to be part of the Canberra community on leaving
school. In 2018, Community Programs Association changed to
a Company Limited By Guarantee and adopted the new name
LEAD Disability Services Ltd. This change facilitated LEAD’s ability
to operate in other states and territories across Australia. LEAD
is a specialist disability service now operating in NSW and the
ACT, providing community participation, employment and training
services to people who have a disability.
