Participating in society through social roles can have a big impact on your quality of life. We can help you become an active citizen by building your skills and capacity to be involved in your community.
Each local community has different strengths and interests. We investigate what is happening in your area to see what it can offer you and what you can give in return. Then we will make a plan with you to get you there. We can provide a range of training to build your skills so you are able to participate.
There is training we can provide to build your capacity to be involved in the community. This could include learning how to use the bus network or how to order your lunch. We are able to build capacity for skills that will have a lasting benefit in your life.
We work with you one-on-one to find activities that will suit you, your strengths and your interests. As everyone is unique we will see what is possible when we discuss your story.
In general, we look for groups and organisations that will make you feel like a member, where you can spend time with people and where you can work towards personal goals. This could include volunteering or special interest groups.
